Day 47: RFYS 2018-19

Good morning folks! The Sunday morning at RFYS 2018-19 has begun with the 5000m finals on Day 2 of Thiruvananthapuram City Championship.

Another day of RFYS comes to an end!  Thiruvananthapuram's  Allen Babu and Vaisak A were the standout performers in the two day meet. Check out the best Institutes and Athletes from Kerala's capital. 

5:00 PM 
Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan’s Dushyanth Cheluvuraju edges out Pranav Krishna in the 200m Junior Boys category to clinch the gold. The track and field action is about to conclude in Thiruvananthapuram and the prize distribution will be done shortly.

St.Thomas Residential School's Ashley Manoj won the 2000m race with a timing of 9:55.05 minutes in the Junior Girls category. The institute's Ardra. P claimed the 200m gold in the same category.

3:00 PM 
Junior Boys of St. Joseph HSS won the 4x100m relay with an impressive timing of 48.72 seconds. Allen Babu from St. Thomas Residential School raced to victory in the 200m finals by clocking  23.03 seconds.

St. Joseph HSS’s Arjun SL struck gold in Senior Boys 1500m with a timing of 4:59.24 minutes. Sub Junior Boys are lining up to start their 200m race. To check out results from other events, visit Athletics results

Pune’s College Boys league game saw Vaishnav Menon score a late winner for Dr D Y Patil Institute of Engg against Rajarshi Shahu College of Engineering. In Athletics, Arya JP from Govt V.H.S.S for Girls jumped a massive 4.22m to claim the gold medal in Senior Girls Long jump.

In Football, a shut-out in Pune as College Boys from Indira College of Commerce and Science were held to a goalless draw by Dr Dy Patil ACS. Alice T from Leo XIII Higher Secondary School claimed the top spot on the podium in the 200m Senior Girls category with a timing of 30.35 seconds.

The College Boys 800m final was a close affair as the athletes toiled hard. Abin Sajan from Mar Ivanios Autonomous College edged out Sarath S in 2:05.59 minutes. Sarath S finished in 2:05.80 minutes.

The opening football fixture of the day saw Pune's Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering score 4 against Indira College of Engineering and Management. To see how the fixtures are lined up for the day, check Football Schedule.
