RFYS National Championship Live Blog - Day 9

The moment is finally here! The sun has risen and it's time for the first match of the RFYS National Championship 2018-19 to commence.

5:00 PM
Nothing separated the two teams at FT as the score remained 1-1 but in the penalty shootouts, 5 perfect spot kicks by Nirmala College earned them the College Boys championship trophy. The runner-up from the inaugural season went one step further this year to emerge as the best College Boys team. That brings an end to what was an engrossing campaign which witnessed incredible performances from teams in all parts of the country. We hope you enjoyed the coverage. Until next time!

4:00 PM: 
The final game of College Boys is set to go right down the wire. Nirmala College were the first to break the deadlock, right before the break with a brilliant strike from their top-scorer Sachin Sivan. In the second half, Thakur College walked in with a different aggression. Their constant attacks gave them early result in the second half, as their top-scorer Alok Chauhan stepped up too. The game is evenly placed at 1-1 and the players are giving in everything to get one notch above their opponents.

3:00 PM: 
The final game of the day and the RFYS Football tournament has started and Mumbai's champions Thakur College are taking on Kochi's Nirmala College. Given the past, Nirmala College were a whisker above Thakur College in the group stage. However, this is the big final and both the teams are expected to come with full force. The game is being broadcasted Live on Star Sports 3 and Jio TV. 

2:00 PM 
The full-time whistle is blown for the School Girls Final and it's Nilamani English School who upped their game in the second half and scored three goals to get a resounding 4-0 win over Faith Higher Secondary School. Shilky Devi and Sarita Yumnam got a brace each. The final fixture of the day is what follows next and it's between Thakur College, Mumbai and Nirmala College, Kochi. The battle promises to be an enthralling encounter and it'll be live on Star Sports 3 and the Jio TV app. 

1:00 PM 
The School Girls National Championship final between Nilamani English School, Imphal and Faith Higher Secondary School, Ahmedabad has kicked off at RCP, Ghansoli. The Senior Boys encounter saw Freddy Warbah save two kicks from the spot and score a penalty and helped Shillong College HSS lift the Senior Boys trophy. 12:00 PM 
After a grueling 90 minutes on the pitch, the teams from Shillong and Kozhikode fail to open their account and hence the Senior Boys Champions will be decided after a penalty shootout. Next up, the School Girls from Faith Higher Secondary School, Ahmedabad, will be taking on Imphal's Nilamani English School. The match will be broadcasted on Star Sports 3 and is available to watch on the Jio TV app as well.

11:00 AM

The first half between Malabar Special Police and Shillong College ends goalless but the proceedings during the first 45 minutes was lively. Malabar ended the half with more shots but failed to convert any of them into a goal. Second half action starts soon on Star Sports 3 and Jio TV app.

10:00 AM
St. Anthony's HSS have done it! They hold off Maharana Pratap Sports College and clinch a 1-0 win to be crowned the Junior Boys Champions of RFYS. Justerwell Tham from St. Anthony's got the Golden Boot as well as the Golden Ball for his spectacular performance during the National Championship. Next up, the Senior Boys Championship final between MSP HSS and Shillong College kicks off. All the action can be seen on the Jio TV app or on Star Sports 3.

9:00 AM
At half-time, Maharana Pratap Sports College found themselves trailing by a goal after Nevielle Majaw struck in the 9th minute for St. Anthony's HSS. After the goal, Maharana Pratap had a couple of chances to draw level but couldn't capitalize on their chances.
