Games were back in full flow as the Reliance Foundation Youth Sports tournament returned to action on Monday.

Coming to Mumbai first, New Horizon Scholars School made light work of Rita Memorial High School, cruising to an emphatic 9-0 victory, the winners incorporating some tricky footwork to bamboozle their opponents. Shriyans Srivatsan bagged a hat-trick and was rightly declared Player of the Match. Talking about big goal margins, Pillai College of Arts Commerce and Science also put 9 past SK College of Science & Commerce and maintained a clean sheet. Silvester Fernandes picked up only one goal but was declared the Player of the Match for his superb assists.

Bengaluru was no less in terms of a goals-fiesta either, as Sri Kamarans Children's Home breezed to a 12-0 win over BM English School. Vinay Karthik picked up a hat-trick for his team in this high scoring extravaganza.

Competing once again on the same lines, Our Lady of The Rosary Higher Secondary School beat Our Lady of The Rosary High School by a 7-0 margin. Birla Institute of technology and Science couldn’t hoist a comeback as they lost 4-2 to Father Agnel College of Arts and Commerce.

Heading to the south, Chennai endured a thrilling game as the game between Don Bosco and Government Higher Secondary School ended up going to penalties. Even then, it took a great save on the last spot-kick to help Don Bosco complete a very competitive 5-4 victory.

Hyderabad saw MS Creative School run riot in their 8-0 win over Sesna High School. Shamil Najam, going on to bag half of his sides’ overall goals.

Kolkata painted a slightly different picture as Ashoknagar Vidyasagar Bani Bhaban High School had a tough nut to crack in the shape of Kings Park High School. Although they managed to come out victorious, 4-2 at full time was a clear reflection that this had been a very tightly fought contest. Suvham Maity was the hero for Budge Budge PK High School as his hat-trick helped them beat Lajpat Hindi High School 3-0.

Shillong showcased the most intense game of them all, as a last minute missed penalty resulted in heartbreak for Unitarian Higher Secondary School. They ended up losing to Mawlai Presbyterian Higher Secondary School by 5-4, a spectacle for the neutrals.
