Goals light up Diwali at RFYS

On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, Reliance Federation Youth Sports continued in four cities, with Kochi, Kozhikode, Chennai and Shillong, all producing highly competitive games.

Heading to the South, St. Mary's Higher Secondary School, Arakulam and St. George Higher Secondary School, Muthalakodam, fought out a highly competitive game in Kochi. At the end, it was St. Mary’s that won the game 4-2, but what made the win even more intriguing was the fact that St. Mary’s produced a stunning comeback, scoring all four goals after having gone two goals behind within the first 20 mins. On the other hand, Bappuji English Medium School, Koothattukulam made light work of St. Xavier’s Public School, Pothanicad with a convincing 3-1 victory. Abin Ravi picked up the Player of the Match award for his excellent brace.

Kozhikode saw St. Antony’s Higher Secondary School, Mala, put in a shift to outclass St. Antony’s Higher Secondary School, Ammadam, by 2-0, boosting their chances of qualification even further.

Coming to the North-East, Shillong witnessed St. Anthony’s Higher Secondary School breeze past Gorkha Pathshala Higher Secondary School with a scintillating 7-0 victory. Nevielle Iver Majaw was the hero of the day has he bagged a hat-trick on the occasion. Khrumdiengiei Secondary School did one better, by going on to beat PNC Higher Secondary School by 12-0, showcasing their true potential.
