Teams representing Pune and Goa went head to head in the West Zone Championships in todays Reliance Foundation Youth Sports (RFYS) action.

The day got underway in the School Girls category as Rosary Higher Secondary School (RHSS) went on to completely outclass The Bishops School. By half-time they were four goals up with one combining blistering pace with calmness in terms of finish to take the game to 4-0. The second half was the exact as RHSS ended up with a 9-0 victory.

Our Lady Rosary school produced some breath-taking finishes to emerge victorious over Loyola High School. They went on to win 3-0 but got the ball rolling with a spectacular goal just before the half time whistle.

The Final match was in the Senior Boys category and it saw Rosary Higher Secondary School (RHSS) run riot against St. Vincent High School & Junior College (STVHS). Attack, attack & attack seemed to the strategy adopted as RHSS went 5-0 up at the break. The final goal in the half being a demonstration of immaculate dribbling skills on how to skip past defenders before finding the bottom corner. Eventually RHSS went on to win 9-0 and not give STVHS any chance whatsoever throughout the game.

A number of finals took place in the third and final day of Athletics in Bengaluru. The highlight from all the events was how the girls of St. Joseph Convent Girls High School and PU College bagged nine medals from two events.

Neole Carnelo won the best Athlete title in the Junior Girls Category whereas St. Francis Xavier Girls High School were the best Institute in the same. Sashikanth from Government Sports School won the best Athlete award in the Junior Boys category. Dhaneshwari from Government Sports School bagged the best Athlete award in the Senior Girls category. Al-Ameen College were the best Institute in the College Boys category. One of their Athletes, Sampath, also went home with the best Athlete title in the College Boys category.
