The city has made a name for itself for being the only city in the country to have IIM (Indian Institute of Management) and IIT (Indian Institute of Technology) and is soon making a name for being one city laden with top-class sporting facilities.

Indore has hosted International level matches/tournaments for cricket/table tennis. The rapidly developing city has shown tremendous improvement over the recent years and acts as the launch pad for athletes of Madhya Pradesh by providing them the platform to hone their skills. It comprises of top-quality facilities for Tennis, Cricket and Athletics. City’s Daly college has produced eminent athletes. Here are a few more sporting facts about Indore:

1. World class Athletics track: Recently, the city’s first synthetics athletics track opened for training of district, state and national level athletes. The 400m track is located inside the Takshashila Campus of DAVV university.

2. Serving it right: Back in 2014, Indore played host to ATP Challenger tennis tournament which was played on hard courts and was part of the ATP Challenger Tour that year.

3. Getting Hockey ready: A world-class hockey turf is under construction at Indore’s Bijlapur area which will increase the popularity of India’s national sport in the city.

With RFYS making its debut in the foodie city, the institutes will get a chance to showcase their footballing prowess. Matches so far are being held in DAVV University Ground and the Emerald Heights International School and the city has already witnessed a few exciting encounters. It will be interesting to see who comes up trumps to win the city championship and whether the institutes are able to pose a threat to the other institutes of the country.
