Mumbai witnesses some enticing fixtures!

Mumbai and Pune witnessed some electrifying and high-scoring games. Junior, Senior and College Boys category qualifier matches continued in Mumbai while Senior and Junior Boys matches were played in Pune!

A total of thirty-five goals were scored in five qualifier games at Pune. CMS English Medium Higher Secondary School started the day with a confortbale 6-0 victory over Judson High School in the Junior Boys category. Angel High School stole the show in the Junior Boys category with a devastating 11-0 win over City International School & Junior College. The Bishops School, Senior Boys City Champions of RFYS 2016, scored 8 goals to nil against Mansukhbhai Kothari National School. Shiva Bhimsen Pandey grabbed the player of the match award for a sensational performance scoring four goals.

At Mumbai, last year’s city champions in the Senior Boys category, Fr. Agnel Multipurpose School and Junior College started the day's proceedings with a 14-1 victory over Tilak Public School. Gaston Micheal D'Silva grabbed an impressive hat-trick and with it the player of the match certificate! The match between Cardinal Gracias High School and GPP High School was an enticing one with Cardinal edging out GPP 5-3 in the Junior Boys category. Cardinal scored 5 goals on a trot after going a goal down in the opening minutes.

Another pulsating game saw Siddharth College of Commerce & Economics also win 5-3 against The BJCC. BJCC were in a commanding two-goal lead which included a thunderous volley from thirty yards out but the boys from Siddharth College held their nerves and scored two goals within five minutes to level the scores at half-time. A mesmerizing second half performance saw them score three more goals in the opening thirteen minutes without a reply, a performance that'll not easily be forgotten!
