RFYS gears up for the Festival of Lights

The Reliance Foundation Youth Sports football tournament witnessed early Diwali fireworks in Mumbai, Jamshedpur and Shillong.

Mumbai continued with the qualifier games in the Junior, Senior and College Boys category. Maharashtra College secured a narrow 2-1 victory over SIES College of ASC (Sion) to start the day, while Pillai College won an entertaining penalty shoot-out against SIES College of Arts, Science & Commerce in the College Boys category. The only game of the day in the Senior Boys category witnessed Bunts Sanghas SM Shetty High School clinch a 1-0 victory over S K Somaiya Vinay Mandir Junior College. In the Junior Boys category, Powar Public School registered an easy 2-0 win against VPM BR TOL English High School. Dominic Savio Vidyalaya were impressive in their 3-0 win over Saraswati Vidyalaya.

In Shillong, Pynthorumkhrah Golf Links won against OM Roy Memorial Higher Secondary School in a tightly contested match which went down to penalties. Jaiaw Presbyterian Higher Secondary School overcame Kamala Nehru Secondary School, 6-0 while Mizo Modern High School scored in the last minutes of the match to register a 3-2 win over OM Roy Memorial Higher Secondary School. Jamshedpur hosted two games today with Kerala Samajam High School winning 4-3 in a penalty shoot-out against Baridih High School in the Junior Boys category. Jusco School left it late to clinch a narrow 1-0 win against Andara Association English School.
