RFYS crowns its Pune champions

RFYS hosted its finals in Pune today, with most matches going down to the wire.

The first final of the day was in the School Girls category between DR. Erin Nosh Nagarvala Boarding School (ENNBS) & The Bishops School, General Bhagat Marg Camp (TBS). Although ENNBS managed to get an equalizer after going a goal down, TBS didn’t take long to take the lead again, and eventually win the game 2-1.

Spicer Adventist University played out of their skins to be crowned champions. After taking a one goal lead into the break, they had to resist some immense amount of pressure from Vidya Bhavan College of Commerce to come out 5-2 winners on the day. H.A.S Masotngam scored a brace for the winning team.

St. Vincents High School scored a goal per half to comfortable brush past Army Public School with a 2-0 win. The second being a spot kick which was comfortably put away by Kevin Dieter Weilson.

The last final staged some very late drama, as Loyola High School (LPS) came from behind to beat Delhi Public School (DPS) by 2-1. The highlight of the game was Atharva Kangane’s solo dash which resulted in a goal in the final seconds of the game. LHS were crowned Junior Boys Champions, whereas DPS were left heartbroken.
