Don’t miss these athletes from Delhi at RFYS National Championship

Delhi produced fascinating results at the RFYS Athletics City Championships and there are a number of athletes and institutes to look out for.

Nehal S of DAV Public School, Vasant Kunj, completed his Junior Boys 100 meters race in 11.04 seconds, only 0.03 seconds behind the national record. He'll be hoping to break the record when it matters the most at the RFYS National Championship in Mumbai. Raja Babu of Dr. Zakir Hussain Memorial School clinched bronze in the 100 meters behind Nehal with an impressive timing of 11.31 seconds, he also went on to grab the gold in the 200 meters, finishing the race in 22.861 meters. Anshul of Siddhartha Public School missed out on the gold medal in 200 meters by the tightest margin of 0.005 seconds behind Raja Babu but he made it up in the 400 meters race by clinching the gold medal, finishing the race in 53.77 seconds. Govt. Boys Senior Sec. School's Shiv Chauhan also impressed grabbing the silver medals in 400 meters and 800 meters. He along with Amit Yadav of RBSM Public School who clinched gold and silver in 800 meters and 1500 meters respectively, will be the ones to look out for in long distance running from the national capital.

The Junior Boys from Siddhartha Public School also excelled in field events. Sumit Rohilla won the bronze and silver medals in long jump and triple jump. Deepak Nagar of GB SSS Mahipalpur is also one to look out for with a silver and gold in the long jump and triple jump events.

In the Junior Girls category, Reshma Kumari of Vidyagyan School would be hoping to continue her fine form after clinching the gold medals in 100 meters and 200 meters while athletes would be wary of Preeti from GG SSS Gokalpuri who won gold in long jump and triple jump.

Arnav Bhaskar of Sachdeva Public School was the king of track events, winning the gold medal in 100 meters and 200 meters. Vidyagyan School also impressed in the Senior Boys category where Piyush Kumar bagged the silver medal in 100 and 200 meters while Anurag Yadev clinched silver in 400 meters. Vidyagyan School were also the Senior Boys champions of 4*400 meters relay.

In the track events, Gagandeep Bharti of St. Joseph's Academy won gold in long jump and triple jump. Nitish Sharma, Sudhir Singh of the same institute also won silver and bronze medals in the high jump while Aditya Singh who also represents Gangandeep Bharti bagged the bronze medal in triple jump.

Vidyagyan School were also the undisputed champions of track events in the Senior Girls category with Ujjwal Dager and Nikita Choudhary winning 2 silver and bronze medals in 100 and 200 meters. Shamiksha Kumari and Shanu Yadev also made Vidyagyan School proud with gold and bronze medals respectively in the 400 meters race. Vidyagyan School were also the champions of the 4*100 meters and 4*400 meters relay race.
