Welcome to the recap for day five of the National Championship. These matches are being held in Mumbai. Check out the recaps for all the exciting matches that happened below to stay up to date with how your favorite players and teams are doing so far in the tournament!
The first match of the day, in the Junior Boys category, had Kamla Devi Public School, Bhopal facing off against Mamta Modern Senior Secondary School, Delhi. Kamla Devi Public School’s Suraj Das tricked the defenders and swept the ball into the nets for a goal in the 5th minute. Kamla Devi Public School kept on hunting for a goal after that but Mamta Modern School managed to score the equalizer in the 15th minute with a strike from Fahad Temuri. Harsh Bhardwaj struck in the same minute with a shot that deflected off the goalposts into the nets. At the half Mamta Modern School lead 2-1. The second half saw both teams change up their strategies in order to secure the win. But in this part of the game defense reigned supreme and no goals were scored ensuring a Mamta Modern School win based on their two first half goals.

The second match of the day kicked off in the Junior Boys category with Government Oriental High School, Edathanattukara facing off against H. Elias Memorial Higher Secondary School, Shillong. H. Elias Memorial School struck first, immediately after the opening whistle with a goal from Abhary Chettri. Right before the end of the first half Henryford Nongneng made it 2-0 for H. Elias Memorial School with an amazing header. Government Oriental School changed up their strategy but it did not work, with H. Elias Memorial School scoring twice more in the 56th and 61st minutes to walk away with a 4-0 win.

The third match of the day was between ASC Boys Sports School, Bengaluru and Shillong College Higher Secondary Education, Shillong. This was a Senior Boys fixture. Both teams started the match out with good intent and an attacking strategy but the first goal came very late, in the 39th minute right before the end of the first half. Khwairakpam Singh from ASC good a good pass from his teammate and just simply feathered the ball into the nets for the score. ASC could not hold their lead for long as right before the half ended, in the 49th minute Shillong College scored the equalizer, with a strike from Remark Kharmalki. In the 71st minute of the game the ASC goalkeeper got a red card because he was caught using his hands outside the penalty box. Sanasam Singh scored for ASC in the 78th minute with an amazing header.
You can check out the match stats here. Shillong College was getting desperate in looking for a goal and they found the equalizer with a strike from Kitboklang Khyriem in the 96th minute. Neither team could score after that the game ended in a 2-2 tie.

The fifth match of the day was in the Senior Boys category. It had Chitkara International School, Chandigarh facing off against Fr. Agnel HSS Pilar, Goa. Both teams started out the game trying to control the field offensively. Neither team was successful as the half ended scoreless. The teams changed their strategies in the second half trying to score. Fr. Agnel HSS struck first with a goal from their captain Kanaiya Kamti coming in the 63rd minute. Trijoy Lucas scored just 10 minutes later to win the game 2-0 for Fr. Agnel HSS Pilar.

The fifth match of the day kicked off in the Junior Boys category between Maharashtra High School, Kolhapur and Maharana Pratap Sports College, Dehradun. Shubham Lodhi struck in the 3rd minute for Maharana Pratap Sports College with an amazing shot from the left side. After this goal Maharashtra High School was looking for an equalizer but could not find it. Maharana Pratap Sports College struck again in the 23rd minute with a goal from Nischay Nainwal. At the half the score was 2-0 in favor of Maharana Pratap Sports College. They struck again in the 56th and 59th minute with goals from Aditya Chaudhary and Nischay Nainwal to finish the game 4-0.

The sixth match of the day was between T G English School, Imphal and ASC Boys Sports School, Bengaluru in the Junior Boys category. The defense from both teams reigned supreme as no goals were scored in the first half. Both teams could not beat their opposing defenses to the nets. A late change in strategies resulted in a goal for T G English School in the 54th minute. But they could not hold their lead and just two minutes later Barun Das struck for ASC to equalize the game once again. No teams could score after this point and the match ended in a 1-1 tie.

The seventh match of the day was between Hiramani School and Mamta Modern Senior Secondary School, Delhi. Shresth Joshi struck early, in the 5th minute, to put Mamta Modern School up 1-0. That was also the score at the half. The Mamta Modern School offense shifted to another gear in the second half. Bijoy Gusai started the offensive barrage with a goal in the 48th minute. Amit Thapa added two back to back goals to make it a 4-0 game in the 56th and 58th minutes. Arihant Bahuguna scored in the 58th minute and Bijoy Gusai scored his second goal of the match to finish it 6-0 right before the final whistle.

The eighth and final match of the day took place in the Senior Boys category. It had Shyama Prosad Intermediate College facing off against MSP Higher Secondary School. MSP started the first half scoring thrice within the first six minutes, with goals coming Fardan Daris M, Muhammed Ajsal, and Athil Shibu. Shyama Prosad managed to score once with a strike from Sunaram Besra in the 16th minute. Athil Shibu scored once again to end the half 4-1 in favor of MSP. The second half started with Athil Shibu getting his hat trick with an amazing goal in the 45th minute. He had a career game, scoring thrice more in the 49th, 69th and 89th minutes. He lead from the front in a 10-1 triumph for MSP Higher Secondary School.
