Athletes from Reliance Foundation Youth Sports (RFYS) showcased an outstanding all-around display at the South Asian Senior Athletics Championships 2025, winning eight medals - a gold, six silver, and a bronze medal. The strong performance underlined RFYS’s growing influence in nurturing India’s emerging athletics talent.
In a competitive field, our athletes proved their mettle, contributing significantly to India’s overall success at the Championships.

Gold Glory and Strong Silver Finishes
The highlight of the campaign came from Damneet Singh, who delivered a commanding performance in the men’s hammer throw, winning the gold medal with a best effort of 66.99m. His consistency through all attempts and composure under pressure reflected the high-performance standards being developed at the RFYS training ecosystem.

 

In the women’s events, Seema earned a well-fought silver in the women’s 5000m, clocking 15:40.55 after a thrilling battle for the top spot. Shiksha also shone in the women’s shot put, finishing with a strong silver at 15.83 metres, narrowly missing gold but showing excellent control and technique.
The sprint and hurdles categories saw more podium finishes. Moumita Mondal clinched silver in the women’s 100 metres hurdles, clocking 13.81 seconds, while Sakshi Chavan had a memorable meet, winning silver in the women’s 4×100 Metres Relay (44.93s) and storming to silver in the women’s 200m with a personal best of 23.91 seconds. Her dual-medal performance marked her as one of the standout athletes of the championships.

Podium Presence in Field Events
RFYS’s strength in field events continued with Karishma Sanil, who threw 55.06m to secure silver in the women’s javelin throw, maintaining India’s strong tradition in the discipline. Meanwhile, Sarun Payasingh captured bronze in the men’s long jump with a leap of 7.52m, adding another valuable medal to India’s tally.
With the 2025 season nearing its close, RFYS athletes have once again reinforced our mission of nurturing India’s next generation of champions. Their success at the South Asian Athletics Championships serves as a strong foundation ahead of bigger international challenges, including the upcoming Asian Games and other global meets.
