Reliance Foundation (RF) athletes enjoyed a golden day at the Asian Games 2026 on Wednesday, with Chikitha Taniparthi, Sahil Jadhav, Kushal Dalal and Kynan Darius Chenai winning titles, while Lovlina Borgohain advanced to her second successive boxing final.

Chikitha Taniparthi and Sahil Jadhav led the way with two gold medals each as India swept all three compound archery team titles.

The RF duo combined to win the mixed team crown after a dramatic final against South Korea finished 157-157. Both Indians struck 10s in the shoot-off to seal a 20-19 victory, which also secured India a quota in the compound mixed team event for the LA 2028 Olympics.

Earlier, Chikitha joined Jyothi Surekha Vennam and Prithika Pradeep to beat China 238-234 in the women’s compound team final, equalling the world record for a 24-arrow team match.

Sahil and fellow RF athlete Kushal Dalal then combined with Ganesh Mani Ratnam Thirumuru to edge China 238-237 for the men’s compound team gold.

RF shooter Kynan Chenai also struck gold, partnering Neeru Dhanda to win India’s first Asian Games mixed team trap medal. The pair shot an Asian record 34 in the final to finish ahead of Qatar.

Lovlina Borgohain, meanwhile, beat reigning 70kg world champion Natalya Bogdanova of Kazakhstan 3-2 in the women’s 75kg semi-final, becoming the first Indian boxer to reach finals at consecutive Asian Games.

India add medals across boxing and wrestling

Priya Ghanghas and Kapil Pokhariya returned with bronze medals in boxing after defeats in the women’s 60kg and men’s 90kg semi-finals, respectively.

Sunil Kumar added another bronze in the men’s Greco-Roman 87kg wrestling, defeating the Philippines’ Callum Johnston Roberts 9-0 by technical superiority. It was his second successive Asian Games bronze.

India’s women’s hockey team also reached the gold-medal match with a 2-0 semi-final victory over South Korea. Ishika Chaudhary and captain Salima Tete scored as India set up a final against defending champions China.

India also assured themselves of two squash team medals. Tanvi Khanna, Anahat Singh and Joshna Chinappa beat Singapore 2-0 to reach the women’s semi-finals, while Veer Chotrani, Abhay Singh and Velavan Senthilkumar defeated Kuwait 2-0 to make the men’s last four.
