Reliance Foundation (RF) athletes Gurindervir Singh, Animesh Kujur, Harita Bhadra, Aashima Ahlawat and Manisha Keer were among India’s medal winners at the Asian Games 2026 on Tuesday, contributing two medals across athletics and shooting.

Gurindervir, Animesh and Harita were part of the Indian mixed 4x100m relay team that won bronze with a new national record.

Alongside Sneha Shanuvali, the RF athletes clocked 41.06s in the final. China won gold in 40.78s, while Thailand took silver in 40.87s.

It was one of four relay medals won by India during the athletics programme at Aichi-Nagoya 2026, with the country also bagging a medal in the women’s 4x400m, men’s 4x400m and mixed 4x400m events.

RF athletes Aashima and Manisha, meanwhile, combined with Neeru Dhanda to win silver in the women’s trap team shooting event.

Neeru led the Indian trio with 118 hits in qualification, while Aashima and Manisha contributed 106 and 104, respectively, for a combined score of 328. China won gold with 346, while Kuwait took bronze with 325.

India strike gold in shooting and athletics

Neeru returned later in the day to win the women’s trap individual title with an Asian record. The 26-year-old hit 28 of 30 targets in the final to become the first Indian woman to win an Asian Games gold medal in any shotgun event.

India also struck gold on the final day of athletics through Kiran Pahal, Poovamma Machettira, Prachi Choudhary and Vithya Ramraj, who clocked 3:29.69 to win the women’s 4x400m relay.

Gulveer Singh completed a hat-trick of medals at Aichi-Nagoya with bronze in the men’s 5000m in 13:32.75, while Pooja Singh cleared 1.84m for bronze in the women’s high jump. India’s men’s 4x400m relay team also claimed bronze in 3:01.61.

India finished its athletics campaign with 24 medals - one gold, nine silver and 14 bronze.

In boxing, Parveen Hooda and Ankush Panghal advanced to their respective finals. Parveen beat China’s Li Shu 5-0 in the women’s 65kg semi-final, while Ankush defeated reigning world champion Fazliddin Erkinboev 4-1 in the men’s 80kg last four.

Narender Berwal, meanwhile, finished with bronze in the men’s +90kg category after losing his semi-final 5-0 to Kazakhstan’s Aibek Oralbay.
