City Finals Day 9: Bengaluru's Champion Ballers

The first match of the day, in the Senior Boys Division, had ASC Boys facing off against St. Johns Composite P U College.

The first match of the day, in the Senior Boys Division, had ASC Boys facing off against St. Johns Composite P U College. ASC kicked off proceedings in the 9th minute with a goal from Sanasam Singh. He scored his second goal of the day to put ASC up 2-0 in the 18th minute. After a relatively quiet period where no side to break through, ASC finally managed to find the net with a strike by Khwairakpam Singh in the 41st minute. St. John’s pushed back with two consecutive goals in the 62nd and 64th minute with strikes from Santhosh Tamata and Hemanth S respectively. ASC had the final laugh as they sealed the game with a goal from Sanasam Singh in the 83rd minute to win the match 4-2.

The second match of the day was between Greenwood High International School and Parikrma Centre For Learning in the School Girls Division. Greenwood scored the first goal of the match in the 18th minute with a strike from Aarushi Santhosh. The two teams fought through the rest of the half but without any luck. The second and final goal of the match, by Greenwood again, was scored in the 57th minute, by Revathi Naresh Raghavan. Greenwood ended up beating Parikrma 2-0 to win the trophy.

The third match of the day, in the Junior Boys Division, was between ASC Boys Sports School and Delhi Public School East Bangalore. Delhi Public kicked off the fireworks in this tightly fought match with Amogh Ajay scoring the first goal in the first half. Shreyas Katkar scored another goal for DPS in the 15th minute. Birsha Tudu scored the 1st goal for ASC Boys in the first half. The second half kick-started with two goals in the 33rd and 42nd minutes from Birsha Tudu. ASC took away the trophy with 3-2 as the final score.

The fourth fixture of the day was a Sub-Junior Boys game between Delhi Public School East Bangalore and Ved Vignana Maha Vidya Peeth School - English Medium. Ved Vignana started the match with quick goals in the 1st and 5th minutes by Heiplanmi S and Mehaihungbuibe respectively. Delhi Public kicked off the second half with a score of their own, bringing their deficit down to a manageable amount. This was done in the 37th minute with a strike from Abhiram Kypa. But it was in vain as Ved Vignana sealed the win with another strike in the 49th minute by Keheuhungbe N. The final score was 3-1, with Ved Vignana walking away with the trophy.

The final match of the day was in the College Boys Division between Koshys Institute of Management Studies and St. Joseph’s College of Commerce. St. Joseph’s scored first, in the 7th minute with a strike from Jonathan Aditya Piers. They scored again in the 36th minute with a strike Sherwin Daryl D'Souza to make the match 2-0. Both teams tried to score again, making multiple substitutions and changes but it was to no effect. St. Joseph’s ended up winning on the two first-half goals.
