City Finals Day 8: City Champions of Dharamshala

The first match, a School Girls fixture, was between Kangra Valley Senior Secondary School and The Tibetian Children’s Village School. Tibetian’s started the scoring with a strike by Tenzin Wangmo in the 21st minute.

Tibetian’s started the scoring with a strike by Tenzin Wangmo in the 21st minute. She took a free-kick and scored to make the score 2-0 in the 26th minute. The barrage from Tibetian continued in the second half with a goal by Yeshi Tsogyal in the 41st minute. Tenzin struck twice, in the 44th and 45th minutes to effectively seal the game for Tibetian. Kangra Valley finally showed signs of action in the 53rd minute with a goal by Kunga Phulchung. But it was not enough as Tibetian scored once more in the 58th minute to win the game 6-1. Match two was a Sub-Junior Boys fixture between Mother’s Pride Public School, Maloti and Tibetian Children’s Village School Gopalpur. The first half had plenty of action without any scoring. Tibetian had strong possession but both teams were pretty close to perfect. The first goal of the match came via a free-kick from Mother’s goalkeeper, Aditya Kumar. Tibetian fired back immediately to tie up the game with a goal by Tsetan Dorjay just four minutes later. Mother’s scored the winning goal on a penalty kick by Nikhil K in the 59th minute. The third match was a Junior Boys Game. The Magnet Public School faced off against Tibetian Children’s Village School Gopalpur. The first half started with the Magnet Public goalkeeper being taken off the field due to an injury. Outside of a missed free-kick by Tibetian, there was no other action before half time. However, Tibetian struck hard and fast in the second half, scoring goals in the 36th and 40th minute with strikes from Karma Phursang and Tenzen Samtem respectively. They continued the barrage after a short respite with two more goals by Tenzen Samtem, to finish his hattrick, in the 51st and 55th minutes of the match. Tibetian ran away with the trophy with a strong second-half performance where their offense, firing on all cylinders, managed to outwit and outmaneuver the Magnet defense and score four goals. The fourth fixture of the day between Kendriya Vidyalaya and Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School in the Senior Boys division. The first goal of the game was scored by Parteek Singh Rana of Sacred Heart in the 23rd minute. Sacred Heart made it 2-0 quickly with a strike by Yashal Thakur in the 33rd minute. Parteek Singh Rana scored his second goal of the game in the 53rd minute. Sacred Heart scored two successive goals to go up 5-0 in the 89th minute, effectively ended any chance of a Kendriya Vidyalaya comeback. You can check out the match stats here.
