The first of the National Qualifiers kicks off today with teams from Bhubaneswar, Kolkata, Imphal & Jamshedpur converging in Bhubaneswar to play in the East Zone 1 group. Having won their respective City Championship titles, each category champion will face off against their counterparts from other cities in the group.

The first match of the day is scheduled to kick off at 8:30 AM. It is a Junior Boys game between the Kalinga Institute of Social Science-School from Bhubaneswar and Manav Vikas High School from Jamshedpur.
Kalinga Institute reached the zonal after beating St. Paul School 1-0.
Manav Vikas comes into this match as the team to beat after destroying the Kasidih High School defense en route to a 9-2 win in the city finals.
The second match of the day kicks off at 10:00 AM. It is in the Sub-Junior Boys Division with Kalinga Institute of Social Science-School from Bhubaneswar facing off against Kasidih High School from Jamshedpur.
Kalinga Institute reached this stage by beating St. Paul School 7-0.
Kasidih High School had a tough assignment when they faced off against Vivekananda High School in the City Finals. They managed to sneak by with a 4-1 penalty shootout win.
The third fixture on the docket starts at 11:30 AM. It is a School Girls matchup between Kalinga Institute of Social Science-School from Bhubaneswar and St. Roberts High School from Jamshedpur.
Kalinga Institute reached this part of the tournament after a 10-1 drubbing of Capital Girls High School Unit-II in the City Finals.
To reach this stage St. Roberts had to beat Vidya Bharati High School. They were able to handily defeat Vidya Bharati with the final score from the City Championship reading 5-0 in favor of St. Roberts.
The fourth match of the day is at 1:00 PM in the Sub- Junior Boys Division. It has Unique Model Academy from Imphal facing off against Ashoknagar Vidyasagar Bani Bhaban High School from Kolkata.
Unique Model Academy represent their city having defeated Khuman Maheikol in a penalty shootout 4-2.
Ashoknagar Vidyasagar, on the other hand, reached the national qualifiers by defeating Calcutta Vidya Bhaban in a hard-fought battle. They managed to come out on top 2-1 only because of the perseverance should be every single member of the squad.
The final game of the day kicks off at 2:30 PM and is between Wangoi HR. Sec School from Imphal and Gustia Kshetranath High School from Kolkata in the Senior Boys Division.
Wangoi HR reached this stage of the tournament by beating Model English Higher Secondary School 2-0.
Gustia reached the national qualifiers by beating Sahudangi Hat P.K. Roy High School 8-5 in a hard-fought game.
