Mumbai Athletics conclude with fervour

The city of Mumbai hosted the third and last day of Mumbai Athletics. Pranjali from Udayachal High bagged the gold medal in the 200m Junior Girls final with a run time of 26.89 seconds.

The Junior Boys category featuring Om Roy Memorial Secondary School & The Unique Model Academy was the first match of the day. Holding the possibility of a highly competitive encounter, ORMHSS soon ended such anticipations by notching up three goals by halftime. From there onwards, the game showcased more of a midfield battle for possession rather than shots on target. In the end, ORMHSS emerged 4-1 winners and took one step closer towards booking a place in the Nationals Championships.

St Anthony’s Higher Secondary School put on a show in their Senior Boys match against The Imphal Public School. Having won their first game by a staggering 11-0 score-line, this match helped signify that St. Anthony’s had come into this game from where they had left off. Some clinical finishing saw them register a 6-0 win and comfortably see them book their place in the National championships.

A stoppage-time strike from Khang Miki Pale sealed the deal for his side St. Anthony’s College with a hard-fought 2-0 win over Mayai Lambi College. The victory assures STAC that they go one step closer towards qualification.
