Rosary looking to settle the score with Minerva.
It would be a treat for the neutrals and nail-biting for the supporters coming Saturday in the Senior Boys National Championship final.
The Bosses from Minerva Public School, Chandigarh will clash with the bosses from Rosary Higher Secondary School, Goa. Minerva are coming into the finals in spectacular form and the boys from Rosary are wary of the attacking threat of Minerva. After their 2-1 semi-final win over Kapasdanga Vidyapith, Kolkata, the top scorer of Rosary, Baggio Fernandes said they'll be playing in the final with their normal game plan. "We know how good a team they are. They have talented players in their squad. There is pressure on us but we are ready and are taking the final as any other game", he added.
Minerva are unbeaten in this campaign and a win in the final would be a historic achievement. After winning the City Championships comfortably, scoring at a rate of ten goals per game, they were already the team to look for the later stages of the tournament. Surpassing expectations, they displayed football of the highest order in the Zonal and National Championship. Their two maestros, Konan Zacharie and Makan Chothe have collectively scored fifteen goals in the National Championship already and stopping them would be a huge task for the boys from Rosary. "We believe in our game and are confident that we'll win the championship.", said Makan after their semi-final win over St. Anthony.
Rosary HSS who have lost only one game in this campaign and that too against Minerva in the league stage of the National Championship would be itching to stop their winning streak and get their revenge. One might not associate eye-catching football with them but a balanced attack and defense has brought them so far in the Championship. Unbeaten in the City and Zonal Championship, Rosary scored a whopping 35 goals in six games but cracking the Minerva's defense would be a cumbersome task for them in the finals and it is a duel we are all eagerly waiting for.
