RFYS Football Action Continues In Mizoram; Meghalaya Leg Of Fixtures Begin

Reliance Foundation Youth Sports (RFYS) action continued in Mizoram with exciting fixtures in Champhai, Lunglei and Aizawl.

On September 16, R. Lalhruaitluanga continued to shine for Ruantlang High School, scoring another brace in a 3-0 victory against Bethel High School in a U17 Boys fixture. Last week, Lalhruaitluanga found the net twice against Holy Angels School. In the U15 Boys category, Govt. MS II, Tlungvel came from behind to secure a 2-1 victory against RS School of Learning.

In the September 18 leg of fixtures, Vanlalramnghaka stole the spotlight, smashing a stellar hat-trick for Govt. Higher Secondary School against D&D Higher Secondary School. Vanlalramnghaka’s treble drove Govt. Higher Secondary School to a dominant 8-2 win in the U19 Boys category.

Additionally, fixtures for U19 and U15 Girls kicked-off in Mizoram on September 18.

Daisy L. scored a terrific double to guide Springfield Higher Secondary School to a 2-0 victory against St. Joseph Higher Secondary School in a U19 Girls match. Meanwhile, in the U15 Girls category, BC English Academy bested Govt. Venglai Middle School in a comfortable 2-0 win.

The action continued on September 19 in the U19 and U15 Boys categories.

A brilliant brace by Albert L. lead Govt. Venglai Middle School to a 2-1 victory against Holy Faith School in a U15 Boys game. In the U19 Boys category, there was nothing to separate KT Higher Secondary School and Zotlang Higher Secondary School, who clashed in a nail-biting 3-3 draw.

On September 21, the RFYS football season commenced in Meghalaya amidst tons of excitement.

In the U17 Boys category, H. Elias Higher Secondary School scored a whopping 14 goals without any response against Sunrise Academy School. Elsewhere, Lewrynghep Secondary School were 2-0 victors against Jaintia Eastern College in a U19 Girls game.

In Mizoram, Johny Lalmalsowmkima found the back of the net four times to hand Sacred Heart School a 5-2 victory over Presbyterian English School in a U17 Boys match.

In the U19 category Boys, Govt. Higher Secondary School continued their superb run of form, with a 4-2 win against KT Higher Secondary School. The Lunglei outfit had earlier scored eight times in their previous fixture.
