RFYS Football Season Continues To Thrill In Hyderabad

The Reliance Foundation Youth Sports (RFYS) football season continued in the South Zone with scintillating fixtures in Hyderabad.

On September 15, Samashti International School were runaway victors against Gowtham Model School, Thirumulgherry, scoring fourteen goals while keeping a clean sheet in a girls U-19 fixture.

In the boys U-15 category, a thrilling contest between St. Peters High School, Bowenpally and Greenwich Academy stood out. In a tight affair, St. Peters High School, Bowenpally claimed the tie 3-2 to advance to the next round.

A couple of exciting encounters went to the penalties in the Boys U-15 category. Samashti International School edged past Govt. High School, NBT Nagar 3-2 in penalties, after they ended tied at 2-2 after regulation time. Gowtham Model School, Thirumulgherry got past the challenge of Ambitus World School by 3-1 on penalties after they were held to a 1-1 draw in stipulated time.

On September 16, Kennedy High The Global School put up an impressive performance, scoring 13 goals without any response against St. Joseph's English Medium School in a girls U-19 game. In another fixture in the same category, Ganges Valley put six in the back of the net against Samashti International School in a clinical display.

The action continued on September 17 in the Boys U-21 and Girls U-19 categories.

Sreenidhi Institute of Science and Tech defeated Badruka College Of Commerce and Arts 7-1 in the Boys U-21 category, in a highly one-sided affair. Elsewhere, in the Girls U-19 category, Institue Of Aeronautical Engineering - IARE Dundigal trounced Malla Reddy Engineering College 4-0.

On September 18, round two of the knockout fixtures commenced in Hyderabad.

Sreenidhi International School scored a whopping nine goals without any response to defeat St. Andrews School, Bowenpally in the Boys U-19 category. Additionally, in the Boys U-21 category, Babu Jagjivan Ram Govt Degree College were 6-0 victors against Muffakhamjah College of Engineering And Tech.

On September 20, in a Boys U-19 fixture, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Golconda bested St. Mary's Centenary Jr. College 8-2, in a dominant display. Meanwhile, Lords Institute Of Engineering And Tech got the better of Institute Of Aeronautical Engineering, beating them 4-1 in the Boys U-21 category.

In a Girls U-19 clash, Pudami Neighbourhood School, Nagaram grinded out a victory against Govt. High School NBT Nagar, besting them 1-0.

Whereas, Govt. Boys High School, Risala Bazar Golconda strolled to a comfortable 4-1 victory against Pudami Neighbourhood School, Nagaram in a Boys U-15 match.

In the September 23 leg of fixtures, Babu Jagjivan Ram Govt Degree College stole the show with a stellar performance to beat Wesley Degree College, Secunderabad 6-1 in the Boys U-21 category.

Meanwhile, in a boys U-17 game, The Future Kids School and Birla Open Minds International School battled it out in an intense goalless draw. The Future Kids School eventually won the game on penalties with a score of 5-4.
