Institutes bag multiple events

The city of Bengaluru hosted its RFYS athletics from 7th to 9th December. Amongst the various track events that took place across the six different categories, there were some institutes which stood out from the rest. Government Sports High School was one such institute which won multiple laurels to its name. From topping the charts in the 400m and 1500m track in both the Junior Boys and Junior Girls category to winning the 4x100m and 4x400m relay’s in the same categories, they will certainly be the school to watch out for, especially in the Junior level categories when the National Championship arrives.

Talking about the Junior level category, Vidya Niketan School caught everyone’s eye for the timings in the Triple Jump Field and the High Jump Field. Bhagawankrippa Mehta recorded a staggering 13.21m in his Junior Boys Triple Jump Field, beating second-best by a margin of over 3m. The Junior Girls category witnessed a similar outcome with Spoorthy C recording 1.50m, 0.15m more than the next best. An institute to watch out for in these specific categories as we head into the National Championship.

In the Senior Boys category, Al-Ameen Pre University College will be hopeful after they won multiple events to progress to the Nationals. Vishal Pashchapur and Yashavanth G produced splendid performances to top their respective 100m and 800m track races.
