City Finals Day 14: Hyderabad crowns New Champions

The first match was in the Senior Boys Division between Cal Public School and Pallavi Model School. Both teams played excellent defense in the first half.

 

The first match was in the Senior Boys Division between Cal Public School and Pallavi Model School. Both teams played excellent defense in the first half. The only goal of the half was scored in the 45+1 minute with Cal Public’s Himanshu Bisht finding the net with a brilliant solo run. Pallavi Model fought back with a freekick goal from Dhiraj J in the 75th minute. At the final whistle, the score was still tied 1-1 as both teams could not find the offensive breakthrough that they desired. The match then went into a penalty shootout with Pallavi Model winning by a score of 3-2 to be crowned the City Champions of Hyderabad.

 

The second match of the day was between Telangana State Sports School and The Future Kids High School in the School Girls Division. This game was an offensive barrage from Telangana State as they scored 15 goals en route to a 15-0 victory over The Future Kids. Ravali Rudraram got her hat trick after scoring the first three goals for Telangana State. By the end of the first half, Telangana State was up 6-0 with four of those goals coming from Ravali Rudraram. She scored twice more to lead off the second half to bring her total to six and her team’s total to 8. She scored again in the 38th minute. Telangana State kept on scoring at regular intervals not giving time for their opponents to recover and regroup to change their flawed strategy. No matter what The Future Kids tried, Telangana State had an answer, and it was always a goal. In the end, Telangana State were crowned the City Champions.

 

Army Public School faced off against The Future Kids School in the Sub-Junior Boys for the third match of the day. Rishi Nori started the proceedings with a goal for The Future Kids School in the 8th minute. Sahil K scored the equalizer for Army Public to tie things up at 1-1 in the 10th minute. The tie did not last for long as Army Public wasted no time in scoring their second goal. Just seven minutes later, in the 20th minute, Raveen Surapaneni scored with a free-kick to tie things up again for The Future Kids. This goal was rated the best goal of the city and definitely in the top five goals of the tournament. At the start of the second half, Karthik K scored to the Future Kids up 3-2. But Army Public struck back just four minutes later to tie things up at 3-3. From here on out the game belonged to Army Public all the way. Himanshu Kumar Yadav scored in the 39th minute. Only a minute later, Army Public struck again to make the score 5-3. Then Himanshu Kumar Yadav scored twice to take the game out of reach for The Future Kids. Army Public ended up winning the match 7-3.

 

The fourth match of the day, a Junior Boys fixture, was between Government Boys High School and Progress High School. Both the teams showed off their stellar defense as no goal was scored in the first 20 minutes of the match. Ibraheem MD scored the first goal of the match in the 43rd minute to put Government Boys up 1-0. They scored again to go up 2-0 with a struck from Imityaz Syed in the 55th minute. Government Boys ended up winning the match 2-0 as Progress High School could not break through the stellar defense of their opponents.

 

The final match of the day was a College Boys matchup between Anwar Ul Uloom Degree College and Loyola Academy Degree and PG College. There were no goals in the first half as both teams could not break through and score. The pressure kept increasing in the second half as time progressed with the score still reading 0-0. At the final whistle, the game was tied at 0-0 and went into a penalty shootout. Loyola Academy ended
