City Finals Day 12: Lucknow Crowns its New Champions

Vivek scored for Guru Gobind in the 14th minute with no defenders around him. Guru Gobind scored again to make it 3-0 in the 25th minute. Try as they might, La Martinere could not mount any sort of offense, and their defense let it slide with two more goals from Guru Gobind in the second half. The final score was 5-0 all from Guru Gobind.
The second match of the day was between City Montessori School, Aliganj and Guru Gobind Singh Sports College. This was a Sub-Junior Boys fixture. The first goal of the game was scored in the second half by Mohammed Farooq in the 32nd minute, to put Guru Gobind up 1-0. Mohammed Anas scored for Guru Gobind in the 48th minute. Mohammed Farooq scored two goals to get his hat trick in the 51st and 54th minute. Chabbi Patel scored in the 58th minute to make the score 5-0 for Guru Gobind. Mohammed Farooq scored again to put Guru Gobind up 6-0 at the final whistle. Guru Gobind out up a string performance not allowing City Montessori to score at all and finding gaps and leaks in their defense.

The third match on the docket for the day was a School Girls fixture between Army Public School LBS Marg and City Montessori School, Aliganj. The first half saw both teams start slowly. Both teams had accurate defending and attacking, so neither could gain the upper hand. This continued for the entire match with no goals scored by either side. The offense was a factor that was lacking in both teams. Army Public School won the match 3-2 after a penalty shootout.

The fourth match of the day had DAV Inter College facing off against Jagran Public School. DAV scored thrice in the first half. With goals from Glaxy Sahani, Pradum Kumar, and Saquib Khan in the 11th, 20th and 21st minutes. Mehtaab Mehtaab made it 4-0 for DAV in the 62nd minute. Glaxy Sahani scored again in the 83rd minute. DAV was crowned champions with their 5-0 victory over Jagran Public School. DAC played a strong game, not allowing Jagran Public a single score, all the while trampling their defense with a mighty offensive showing.
