Day 71: RFYS 2018-19
Curtains close in on another day of RFYS! Athletes competed hard on the first day of RFYS Athletics National Championship! To see how they all fared, visit Athletics Results. Footballing action continued in 12 cities. Imphal hosted finals in two categories, while Ludhiana hosted semi finals in all four categories. National Athletics Championship Finals saw Lady Sivaswami Ayyar Girls HSS’ Deepika S bag the gold medal for her massive 5.34m jump in the Senior Girls category. In the College Boys 4x400m relay, Al Ameen Arts Science & Commerce claimed the gold medal by clocking 3:19.35 minutes.
Peace Public School won a tense penalty shootout 4-2 over Sacred Heart Convent Sr. Sec. School after a goalless draw to advance to the Junior Boys final in Ludhiana. In Athletics National Championship final, Arpitha E B Bangarappa of Govt Pre University College clocked 58.92 seconds to claim the gold medal in Senior Girls 400m.
In track and field action, Manvir Kaur of National College of Physical Education bagged the gold medal by clocking 12.13 seconds in College Girls 100m. To stay updated on results from other events, visit Athletics Results.
Amlan Borgohain from Avinash College of Commerce set the track ablaze in 100m by clocking 10.84 seconds to claim the top spot on the podium. Sweety Verma of Uttam Inter College raced to 200m victory with a timing of 25.54 sec to claim the gold medal in the Junior Girls category.
Nilamani High School clinched the Imphal School Girls Championship 7-0, courtesy of clinical finishing in front of the goal from the brilliant Serto Linda Kom who scored five goals. Meanwhile at the Athletics National Championship, the College Boys are lining up to start their 100m race.
Dawindra International Public School booked their place in the final following an emphatic 7-0 victory over Nankana Sahib Public School. In track and field action, Kajal Sharma from Nari Shiksha Niketan Inter College completed the 5000m endurance test in an impressive timing of 19:44.57 seconds in the Senior Girls category.

Hello and welcome to Day 71 of RFYS 2018-19. The big day is here as we start the Athletics National Championship in Mumbai where the best athletes from 14 cities will be competing for the top honours. Imphal, on the other hand will host the City Championship Final in all four categories. The events are about to begin, till then read about how yesterday panned out here
