Goals galore, exciting clashes, penalties drama! Ahmedabad City Championship witnesses dramatic end

While Parul University smashed six goals in the Ahmedabad City Championship finals, the other four games were close affairs.

 
Ahmedabad hosted a riveting finals day on December 9, 2022, concluding another brilliant season of the RFYS City Championship. Many emerging talents left their mark on the tournament, mesmerizing us with their confidence and skills.
 
In the end, five teams were crowned Champions of Ahmedabad. Shanti Asiatic School Shela, Anant School of Excellence, Parul University, Faith Higher Secondary School, and Amarjyoti Saraswati Vidhyalaya lifted the title in their respective finals.
 
The finals day kicked off with an exciting match in the Junior Boys category. Shanti Asiatic School Shela held Nirma Vidyavihar to a 1-1 draw in regulation time but trumped in the penalty shootout.
 

 

 
Meanwhile, in the Sub Junior Boys final, Anant School of Excellence took an early 1-0 lead in the match. They maintained the clean sheet until the final whistle to lift the trophy.
 
Parul University was clinical in the College Boys final, winning the championship with a 6-0 success against St. Xaviers College Navrangpura. On the other hand, Amarjyoti Saraswati Vidhyalaya won the Senior Boys final 1-0 after a close encounter against Cosmos Castle International School.
 
In the School Girls category, Faith Higher Secondary School beat Uttar Buniyadi Vidhyalay 3-1 in the final.
 
Earlier in the week, semi-finals took center stage in the Reliance Foundation Youth Sports football season at Ahmedabad on December 7 and 8.
 
Nirma Vidyavihar and Anant School of Excellence won their semi-final clashes on penalty shootouts in the Junior Boys and Sub Junior Boys categories, respectively.
 
Meanwhile, Shanti Asiatic School Shela won 4-0 in their Junior Boys semis against Zydus School for Excellence Godhavi. Cygnus World School made the Sub Junior Boys final after a 3-0 success against Laxman Gyanpith Prathmik Shala Sanskardham.
 
In the College Boys semis, Parul University triumphed 3-1 at the expense of Swarnim Gujarat Sports University. St. Xaviers College Navrangpura beat LJ University in the other semi-final on penalties after a 0-0 draw in regulation time.
 
Uttar Buniyadi Vidhyalay produced a staggering result in the School Girls semi-final against Delhi Public School Bopal, winning by an emphatic 17-0 scoreline. In the other match, Faith Higher Secondary School sealed a final berth.
 
After a closely-contested semi-final against Navrachana International School Vasna Vadodara, Amarjyoti Saraswati Vidhyalaya became the first Senior Boys finalists with a 3-1 victory. Cosmos Castle International School joined them in the final, beating St. Xavier High School Loyola Hall Naranpura 2-0.
