National Finals, College Boys: Dr. Bhupendranath Dutta Smriti Mahavidyalaya, Asansol clinch the title in a penalty shootout drama

The fixture was held in the Reliance Corporate Park in Mumbai on January 5th, 2020.
This match was between Shillong College, Shillong and Dr. Bhupendranath Dutta Smriti Mahavidyalaya, Asansol. Shillong College started the scoring with a goal in the 1st minute by Samuel Kyanshi. The first attempt was deflected by the opposing goalkeeper but his second attempt went into the nets. The Dr. Bhupendranath Mahavidyalaya equalized the score with a goal from Sanjay Tudu in the 25th minute. There was a fumble near the nets and Sanjay got the opportunity and simply tapped the ball into the nets. Shillong College took the lead back with a goal from Dameki Khongstia in the 35th minute. Dameki was given the ball near the penalty area and he found his chance and scored an amazing shot into the left corner. At the half Shillong College was in the lead 2-1. The second half started with the Shillong College defense completely shutting down their side of the field. Not allowing any goals or chances to their opponents. Dr. Bhupendranath Mahavidyalaya finally tied the scores up again with a penalty kick goal from Tanmay Das in the 68th minute. The game was not tied for long as Phrangki Buam got the lead back for Shillong College with a goal just four minutes later. Shillong College padded their lead with a goal from Robert Khongjoh in the 79th minute. Tushar Hemram got Dr. Bhupendranath Mahavidyalaya back within one goal with an amazing sweep into the nets in the 85th minutes. They tied up the score in the 95th minute with a penalty kick goal from Sukhen Mandi. At full time the score was still tied 4-4 and the match went into a penalty shootout. Dr. Bhupendranath Mahavidyalaya won the penalty shootout 6-5 and were crowned champions in the College Boys category. The player of the match went to Robert Khongjoh from Shillong College for his amazing performance. He also got two more awards, the Golden Boot for nine goals and the Golden Ball. The Golden Glove went to Kastur Das from Dr. Bhupendranath Dutta Smriti Mahavidyalaya, Asansol.
