The champions shine bright in Kolkata, Jamshedpur and Bhubaneswar; The exciting action in RFYS East Zone comes to an end

In the realm of Reliance Foundation Youth Sports (RFYS), East Zone has proven to be a hotspot of talent, with young athletes from Jamshedpur, Kolkata, and Bhubaneswar showcasing their prowess on the RFYS platform. As these cities have become crucibles for sporting passion and determination, here’s a look back at the victories and stories that have shaped the narrative of these RFYS champions.

Football fever at Jamshedpur🔗 

Nestled in the heart of Jharkhand, the Jamshedpur center epitomizes the spirit of football fervor and the talent on display this season has been nothing short of being spectacular.

The Girls U-15 category witnessed a spectacular performance by the Ramakrishna Mission English School from Bistupur. The young athletes displayed exceptional skill, teamwork, and determination as they ended their campaign with the trophy in their hands.

Boys U-15 Category Winners - Shyama Prasad High School

In the Boys U-15 category, Shyama Prasad High School dominated the proceedings, exhibiting prowess and flair on the field, en route to lifting the trophy at the end of the season.

Vidya Bharti High School emerged as the powerhouse in the Boys-U17 and Boys-U19 categories, solidifying their status as a force to be reckoned with in the Jamshedpur Championship Center. The double triumph underscores the school's commitment to excellence in both junior and senior levels.

In the only other category, that is the Girls U-19, Lal Bahadur Shastri Inter College proved their mettle as they emerged champions to wrap up the season in Jamshedpur.

Glory at Bhubaneshwar 🔗

Bhubaneshwar, the capital city of Odisha, is a confluence of tradition and modernity. Known for its cultural richness, the city has also embraced sports with open arms, and there was no short of talent on display, as far as the latest RFYS Season is concerned.

The newest category introduced for the Girls witnessed Kalinga Institute of Social Science putting up a stellar performance to lift the trophy. Capital girls High school unit 2 came close but had to settle for the runners-up spot in U-15 category.

Girls U-19 Category Winners - Kalinga Institute of Social Science

Continuing their dominance, the Kalinga Institute of Social Science emerged victorious in the Girls U-19 category as well. Once again the girls demonstrated their prowess on the field against Capital girls High school unit-2.

The joy was not over for Kalinga Institute of Social Science as they sealed their spot as the champions of the Boys U-15 & U-17 categories too. While ODM Global School became the runners-up in the Boys U-15, Future Bhubaneswar School took the runners-up spot in the competition for the under 17s.

The Boys U-19 category saw a change in the narrative as Sai International School clinched the title as winners of the category, with ODM Global School finishing in the second spot.

Victorious in Kolkata 🔗 

Kolkata was the third center from the East Zone that saw the budding youngsters of Indian football engaging in a fierce competition. And the display of talent was amazing to say the least.

Boys U-17 Category Winners - Gangadharpur Vidyamandir

However, it was Gangadharpur Vidyamandir who emerged as the undeniable champions, sweeping victories in the Boys U-15, Boys U-19, and Boys U-17 categories. In the only other category for the boys, the under 21s from Dr. Bhupendranath Dutta Smriti Mahavidyalaya came out on top taking the RFYS Season 2023-24 trophy home.

In the Girls U-15 category, Nayagram Thana Balika Vidyapeeth sealed their spot as the champions, showcasing the rising talent among young female athletes in Kolkata. Meanwhile, Nebadhai Balika Vidyalaya H.S secured the Girls U-19 title.

With the curtains getting drawn on the championship in the East Zone, we have witnessed some stellar performances from the youngsters. And here’s a look at the Golden Award winners who have distinguished themselves in various categories.

As the RFYS Season 2023-24 finally comes to an end in the East zone, we shift our focus to the remaining centers.
