With just Kochi left to join the Reliance Foundation Youth Sports (RFYS) extravaganza, the tournament has entered an interesting phase. Today, matches were held at Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Kolkata, Guwahati and Goa, whereas Chennai rested.

Both Junior Boys games held at Royal Global School ground in Guwahati turned out to be one-sided, as Sabitri Bharali M.E. School defeated Sankar Dev Shishu Vidyaniketon School 6-0 and Nichols High School won against Jatiya Vidyalaya by a fourteen goal margin!

Gurgaon’s Swiss Cottage School ground in Palam Vihar hosted two games in the Junior Boys category. Like the games in Guwahati, these games also turned out to be subjugated by a particular side. DAV Public School Uppal’s Southend scored eight times against Indraprastha International School which managed to register one goal. Sri Venkateshwar International School dominated their game against Rotary Public School and ended up winning 7-1.

Senior Boys played with enthusiasm in today’s five matches played at Goa. The picturesque ground at Verna witnessed attacking football as Santa Cruz Higher Secondary School outplayed Vaddemnagar Higher Secondary School to win 4-0. The other game at the venue was a close contest as a 53rd-minute goal by Loyola Higher Secondary School led them to victory against PES Shri Ravi Sitaram Naik Higher Secondary School.

Gauncar Higher Secondary were in for a shock at Curtorim Ground as Rosary Higher Secondary School came back from 2-1 in the first half to win 5-2. Shree Ameya Vidyaprasarak Mandal's Higher Secondary Vs Mount Mary's Higher Secondary Senior Boys encounter was hard fought. Shree Ameya Vidyaprasarak Mandal's Higher Secondary scored first however, Mount Mary were quick to net one in. Before the whistle, Shree Ameya Vidyaprasarak Mandal's Higher Secondary scored and sealed the win.

The third game at Curtorim Ground was a high scoring one as St. Alex Higher Secondary thumped five goals in the first half and three in the second, while their opponent, Jawaharlal Nehru Higher Secondary School, did not manage to score.

Kendriya Vidyalaya’s Junior Boys had an easy day in the field as they won 11-0 against St. Joseph’s school at Kharagpur’s Sersa Stadium in Kolkata. The Senior Boys game at Pune’s PDFA Ground Dhobarwadi saw seven goals from Modern College of Arts Commerce & Science and none from New English School & College of Arts, Science & Commerce. Mumbai’s Junior Boys qualifier between Colaba Upper Primary BMC English School and Dharavi T.C. Municipal Urdu School at St. Xaviers Ground, Parel went the former’s way as Colaba Upper Primary BMC English School’s aggressive gameplay ensured them a 9-0 win.
