National Finals, Sub Junior Boys: The Unique Model Academy, Imphal put up a dominant display to be crowned as National Champions

The finale is here. The match to decide which team is the best after months of competition. The match to decide which team walks away with the highly coveted trophy. Read on below to find out how your favorite team did in the final match for the Sub-Junior Boys category. 

The fixture was held in the Reliance Corporate Park in Mumbai on January 5th, 2020.

The match has Progress High School, Goa facing off against The Unique Model Academy, Imphal. Both teams started out the match very aggressively hoping to build up a solid lead by the end of the first half. After some back and forth gameplay The Unique Model Academy struck in the 13th minute. Suraj Laishram scored with an amazing header to put his team up 1-0. The Unique Model Academy hissed their lead with a penalty voal from Bigyanandra Laishram in the 20th minute. Solendro Chanam got the ball near the nets with a shot from the striker and scored with an amazing header to put his team up 3-0. Progress High School came up empty in terms of offense in the first half as it ended with The Unique Model Academy in the lead 3-0. Progress High School changed up their strategy in an effort to stop the game from getting out of hand. They were getting desperate in their search for a goal. They could not find it however as the star player and captain from The Unique Model Academy, Annaroy Soibam scored an amazing goal in the 44th minute to give his team a 4-0 lead. As the final whistle neared the Progress High School strikers were getting more and more aggressive in their search for the elusive first goal. They couldn't find it and at the final whistle The Unique Model Academy was still leading 4-0. While their offense played the starring role in this game, their defense was the game winner for them, shutting down a potent Progress High School offense. The Unique Model Academy defeated The Progress High School 4-0 to be crowned the National Champions in the Sub-Junior Boys category.  The player of the match went to Annaroy Soibam from The Unique Model Academy. He was also awarded the Golden Boot for his 12 goals and the Golden Ball for his 20 points. The Golden Glove award on the other hand went to Meiteinganba Wairokpam from the same team.
