RFYS 2019-20 City Finals off to a start!

Shillong, Meghalaya will be the first city from the RFYS 2019-20 tournament to commence the City Finals, with the final matches kicking off from tomorrow.

Shillong, Meghalaya will be the first city from the RFYS 2019-20 tournament to commence the City Finals, with the final matches kicking off from tomorrow. All matches from all city finals will be live-streamed on Facebook and the website so you can catch all the action.

The Senior Boys category has some interesting match-ups.

The first game will see Shillong College Higher Secondary Section take on St Anthony's Higher Secondary School for a place in the City Finals and the kick-off is at 7:00 am tomorrow (6th November).

Shillong College Higher Secondary Section played 2 matches in the previous stage. They scored 7 goals in total and managed 2 clean sheets. Banshemphang Kurbah is currently the top scorer with 4 goals while Brilliant Thabah kept the opposition attacks at bay with 2 clean sheets. On the other hand, St Anthony's Higher Secondary School played 3 matches (1W, 1D & 1L) on their way to the City Finals. They managed to find the back of the net 8 times, with Justerwell Tham scoring 4 of them. See all their previous match results from this season here.

The School Girls category has been equally impressive as Umthli Secondary School and Lady Keane College go head to head and this clash begins at 9:25 am.

Umthli Secondary School secured 4 victories with 2 losses and one draw in the 7 games that they played in the previous round. They scored an impressive 19 goals, kept 4 clean sheets and Marbarin Nongrum top scored for the team with 7 goals. See how the girls faired in their 7 matches here.

Lady Keane College played 4 matches and managed to win all but one of their matches and scored a total of 8 goals. Nisilia Majaw led their attack with aplomb, scoring 7 goals while Pearlydora Kharmalki stood tall in goal and secured 3 clean sheets. Check their performance so far here.

In the Sub-Junior Category, St Anthony's Higher Secondary School will face H Elias Memorial and this match will kick off at 11:00 am.

In the Junior Boys category, H Elias Memorial HSS take on the Army Boys Sports Company in the Junior Boys category and the match starts at 1:05 pm.

H Elias Memorial HSS have played 12 matches this season and have 8 victories under their belt. They have scored 18 goals and kept 5 clean sheets. Gladdy Nelson Kharbuli has led the team upfront with total 5 goals in the tournament.

On the other hand, Army Boys Sports Company have played 5 matches in total and won 3. The team managed to score 3 goals and managed one nail-biting victory after winning the match on penalties.

The day finally concludes with the College Boys Category witnessing the clash between Shillong College and St Anthony's College and this match begins at 2:55 PM.

Shillong College have had a 100% record so far, winning all 4 of their matches and out of the 15 goals scored by them, Phrangki Buam has managed to find the net 9 times. Surprisingly, St Anthony's College also has a 100% record (4 games, 4 wins) and have also scored 15 goals. There have been plenty of contributions from within the team, with Rheadolf Nelson Daloi scoring a total of 3 goals. They overcame K L Bajoria College to reach the City Finals.

Tomorrow is setup for an incredible day of footballing action as Meghalaya will crown the champions across all 5 categories and lead the way to move into the national qualifiers. All the matches will be streamed live for viewers on Facebook and the website and the live action begins from 7 am.
