Presented at a ceremony in New Delhi, the awards acknowledge Reliance Foundation Sports' contribution to building a world-class athletics ecosystem that supports athletes from development through to elite competition. The recognition comes at a time when Indian athletics is achieving unprecedented success on the global stage, with increasing international podium finishes and record-breaking performances.
Central to Reliance Foundation's vision is the creation of high-performance training environments that bring global standards of athlete preparation to India. Through strategic investments in infrastructure, coaching expertise and sports science, the Foundation has developed an integrated ecosystem designed to help athletes maximise their potential and compete at the highest levels of the sport.
A key pillar of this ecosystem is the Reliance Foundation High Performance Centre in Odisha, located at the Kalinga Stadium Sports Complex in Bhubaneswar. The centre houses the Kalinga Indoor Athletics Stadium, India's only indoor athletics facility, enabling year-round training in a world-class environment. The facility was developed under the guidance of James Hillier, Athletics Director and Head Coach at Reliance Foundation, incorporating international best practices in athlete preparation and performance development.

Together, these facilities represent Reliance Foundation Sports' long-term commitment to transforming Indian athletics by creating the infrastructure, expertise and support systems required for sustained sporting excellence. By providing athletes with access to world-class training environments and holistic performance support, the Foundation continues to play an important role in strengthening India's athletics ecosystem.
The twin honours at the Indian Athletics Awards 2026 mark another significant milestone in Reliance Foundation Sports' mission to advance Indian sport through investment in infrastructure, innovation and athlete development, while creating pathways for the next generation of champions to succeed on the global stage.
