The Reliance Foundation Youth Sports continued in Pune and Chennai today as the competition inches closer to the knockout stages. In Pune, the College Boys encounter between DY Patil College of Engineering and AISSMS College of Hotel Management started the proceedings at the SRPF ground. An agonizingly close chip shot fired by DY Patil College missed the net by a whisker. Another opportunity went begging when DY Patil College did not capitalize on their spot kick. The thirst for a goal escalated in the second half as well. Finally, DY Patil College managed to score minutes before full-time to win their game 1-0.
Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering faced Pune Vidhyarthi Griha's College of Engineering & Technology in SRPF ground’s second game. Pimpri Chinchwad College accelerated in the first half and scored three goals before half-time. They scored two more goals in the second half to win 5-0.
Garware College of Commerce scored two goals in a span of eight minutes in their College Boys game against Symbiosis Center for Media & Communication. As both teams were about to head into the half-time break, Symbiosis scored to make it 2-1. The competitive game took a detour and became one-sided in the second half. Garware scored thrice and the game ended with an own goal from Symbiosis. At full-time, the scoreline read 6-1 in favor of Garware College of Commerce.
Poona College of Arts, Science & Commerce and Christ College battled it out in their league game. Christ College maintained possession against Poona College in the first half but failed to get the scoreboard ticking. Both teams settled for a draw at the end of full-time as no one could find the back of the net.
Maharashtra Institute of Technology and DY Patil School of Engineering & Technology played out a nil all draw in their game, as the defenders came out on top for both sides.
Down in Chennai, JHA Agarsen College faced SSN College of Engineering at Loyala College ground in their qualifying game. An uneventful first half saw one goal from JHA Agarsen College moments before both teams took a break. The second half went goalless and JHA Agarsen College won their game 1-0.
Loyola-ICAM College of Engineering & Technology and Guru Nanak College tried hard to take lead in the first half, however, both teams scored in quick succession a minute before the break to make it 1-1. In the second half, both sides looked to take the lead and eventually Guru Nanak College found the breakthrough in injury time, to complete a 2-1 victory.
